In the late 1970s, stickers were introduced to China. It has been widely used in food and beverage, daily family, medical care products, cosmetics, wine, chemical and electronic industries, and the annual consumption is increasing year by year. In 2000, the internal model labeling technology was introduced into China. With beautiful decorative effect, unique anti-counterfeiting function, and excellent environmental protection performance, the annual consumption of internal model labels has also risen from hundreds of thousands of square meters per year to 20 million square meters in 2007. It has been applied in the industries of chemical, cosmetic, Japanese family and food. But at present, in the whole label industry, the market share of the label industry is only about 1% in China's label industry (7% to 8% of the labelling market in the United States), and the proportion is still low.

I can't help asking why this is called the label of the label industry, which has gone through the waning period of the first few years, and has not been as high as the sticker label, as the label material has been developing to the film. Before answering this question, please revisit the following two questions with me.

Question 1: what are the advantages of in mold labels?

The intra die labeling technique is a pre - printed, die - cut label that is sucked by a manipulator and placed in a mold before plastic blowing, injection or thermoforming to produce plastic bottles, pots, or tank containers. Compared with the above three categories of labels / packages, the internal model labels can present the fine patterns and characters of the sticky label, not as easily damaged as the shrinkage label, and the cost of the internal model labels will be lower than the cost of direct screen printing if the amount of printing is large.

In addition, the inside of the model label has its unique advantages. (1) the appearance is novel and beautiful. Inside the mold label and the plastic container naturally melt into one, the hand feels smooth, the label changes with the shape of the container. After repeated extrusion, it will not appear the warping, folds, and the marking of the label. It can withstand the scraping in the process of production and transportation, and keep the whole and beautiful for a long time. (2) the anti-counterfeiting function is strong. The internal model labeling system needs special machining mould, and the price of a set of label labeling equipment in the mould is at least 15% higher than that of the traditional molding equipment. This also improves the difficulty of counterfeiting to a certain extent, and has played a certain anti-counterfeiting effect. (3) strong environmental tolerance. Most of the labelling materials are thin film materials, so it has the properties of water resistance, oil resistance, acid and alkali resistance, friction resistance and so on, which ensures that it is not easy to fall off or damaged in special state. (4) safety and environmental protection. The mold labels and containers are formed at one time to avoid contamination of containers caused by the labelling of the traditional labels after the containers are formed. Because the in mold label is the same or similar to the container material, its recycling rate is higher and the cost is lower. (5) high production efficiency. The packing line is faster and the efficiency of the filling line is increased by 5% ~ 20%. At the same time, it reduces the inventory, shorten the production cycle, and saves the cost input of the labeling.

Question two: what are the application markets of in mold labels?

As a "newcomer" in mold label, its application domain has a certain specificity, not as extensive as sticker labels. As long as the surface is smooth and smooth, the sticker can be used on the surface of plastic products, paper products, metal products, glass products, etc. on the surface of almost all the packaging materials, such as soft packing, hose packing and so on. Compared with self-adhesive labels, the application area of in mold labels is still small. However, in mold label has an irreplaceable application advantage in a specific application market. These advantages will only get more recognition in the "right" market.

(1) the food field. In the field of food, the application of in mold labels is quite common. In the European market, at least 85% to 95% of food packaging is processed by in mold labeling technology, which is mainly used in two sub markets in China. (4) medical products. In the field of medicine, some high-end products can also see the "inside figure" of the in mold label. Xi'an Yang Sen's "Joy Music" drugs used in mold labels, effectively enhance the brand, enhance the anti-counterfeiting and drug safety.

The successful application case of in mold label in its application field attracts more and more enterprises and brands to join in the application module label. In addition, the advent of innovative labelling materials has also pushed the market demand to a certain extent. It can be seen that the label market in our country is still growing in the label market. It is only a little "low profile" relative to the fast growth rate and the wider application of the sticker label.

Through the above two questions, we can see that the advantages of in mold labels in these fields are unmatched, and the adhesive labels with many advantages are no exception. However, if we want to apply the in mold label successfully and gain a new profit point, the end product manufacturer should also have clear challenges.

First, if the label is not satisfied, it will cause double waste of containers and labels. The integration of the label and the container determines the trouble when the label is removed from the container. When the label is not satisfied or the label needs to be replaced, it will cause the double waste of the container and the label.

Second, the special mould in labelling increases the cost of anti-counterfeiting while increasing the cost of the enterprise. Therefore, in mold labels are suitable for orders of large quantity and large quantity, not suitable for orders with small quantity and short delivery times.

Third, if the moulded container is used in mold label, the curvature of the container must also be considered. If the curvature is too large, it will cause exhaust difficulty in the labelling process.

Therefore, if end product manufacturers want to benefit from in mold labels, we need to comprehensively analyze and weigh the pros and cons based on their own product characteristics.

Any type of label is not a panacea. Each label has its own unique features. The label is only a supplement to the sticker label, and no one in the most suitable field can be replaced.
